Well, mine monitor broke itself few months ago, just after i back from holidays i saw nice not-working blue colour vertical strap thru whole monitor :/

When I emailed dell they said me to give number from box which was trashed already. I told them to fuck off then dunno how/why/when monitor fixed itself and its working again.

I guess ur monitor is not going to fix itself. If ur guaranty is still valid send it back and pray for new one, sell it via ebay and get urself shiny new LCD with extra-glass matrix protection.

That's how good Dell's tech support is.

Well I was planning on buying a new one, but no idea what I was going to do with this one and I'm sure it has a 3 year limited warranty, but I don't think that covers user inflicted damage.

If it'd do people'd trash everything they scratch so they can have an un-scratched copy.

Yeah, they dont care about ur receipt and buy date but order number. I have every piece of shit from the box but not box itself. This way i realized im out of my 3 year warranty. Good advice: keep the box, no matter how big it is. Otherwise dell will not give u new monitor.

Haven't you ever heard of screen protectors? My TV has a sheet of acrylic glass over it like they use in riot shields only thicker, that way if the Wii strap breaks and the remote hits the TV it doesn't break.
